There is Beauty You Do Not Know, A Poem

on

What is the language of your heart?
What phrases do you speak
In the silence of the night
When no one is listening
Is it poetry you are writing?
Rhymed verses
Strung with loving hands
Do your verses fall
From trembling lips
Does sadness drip
From every line
What is the language of your heart?
What is the language of your heart?
I want to hear it
I want to hear the dialect of your soul
For though many may not know it
There is such beauty
In things we do not understand
In that which we have not seen
From other lands
From other lands
From across the sea
And woven in tales shrouded in mystery
If only we could understand
That which we
May not have seen
That which we
May not have witnessed
There is beauty still
If we only open our eyes.
