The Setting Sun, The Rising Moon – A Poem

We only see
the comings and goings
of the sun and the moon
across the horizon
the slow descent and rise
the world ablaze in color
or bereft in its loss
only to be sheltered
upon a moment’s rest
by the moon and the stars
yet we barely understand
the hand that holds them
the machinations with which
the day has been spun
and a new day has begun
we can barely gather
the sky as it outstretches
nor understand its reach
nor understand its reach
and each day
as a moment passes
we barely give notice
to our lack of understanding.

So glad you liked it. I often wonder on things like this – on nature in general. It amazes me greatly. Love you as well. So glad you are back, but never feel forced to read. I truly enjoy your hugs just the same 🙂
