Impossible Doesn’t Live Here, A Poem

Have you ever stood

Where the wind whistles

Through the crevices

Of canyon walls

Peered through the mists

And contemplated everything?

There was a time –

There have been times

When I have been told

My dreams were impossible

And others before me

Dwelled within the same lies

But refused to understand.

The world is a pointillist image

With pieces missing

Gaps like gaping mouths

Waiting to be filled

Have you seen the wonder

Between the lines?

Have you ever sat

And pondered the connection

The connectedness of everything

And with amazed eyes

Have you ever

Scanned the horizon

And realized

Much wonder lies

At your feet as well?

Some may say,

Without soil

A tree shall never grow

And others may say,

Your dreams are impossible

But for every person

Who utters such words,

There are just as many

Proving them wrong.
