Photography: Who is the Visitor?

This past weekend, we actually went up and stayed in the mountains.  We finally had (much too late in the year) a real hiking experience.  We ended up leaving at 10 a.m. one morning and getting back by 4:30 p.m.  It was so nice to be out in nature again!

Sadly, we did not see a lot of signs of wildlife.  People often do get a chance to glimpse a moose or deer.  We did, however – hike down to a waterfall where many people were splashing about in the water and found this guy.  He was completely unafraid and I do sadly think he was expecting food, but I prefer not to taint nature.  Makes you wonder – who is the visitor and who is doing the visiting?

Later along the trail (we hiked up to the where the waterfall originates) we found this guy.  He was also curious, but definitely not as comfortable with humans as the other one.  I had to sit and wait for him to pop his head out and then run on back.  He did it several times before I finally got the right picture 🙂

  1. I raised one of these guys after he fell out his nest as a baby. It was fun to be around him. He was always up to something.

Oh, I can believe they are pretty rambunctious! He was quite adorable. So cool that you got a chance to raise one.
