Life

is a test,

and some of us

struggle to breathe

beneath the weight

of life’s dreams

unfulfilled

and others –

beneath

the layers

of expectation

Am I enough?

Am I enough?

Am I . . .

enough –

and we often forget,

that life

is about living.

it is not the attainment

of perfection

painting ourselves

in the proper hue

followed by the spotlight.

It is the savoring

of every moment –

no matter how small.

It is in the recognition

of growth

and a witness

to the beauty

of imperfection.

It is in the slow strive

toward improvement

and the meaningful stretch

toward our hopes and dreams.
