Have you known
the magic?
Have you fallen
beneath its spell –
the twist of words
that writhe
beneath your skin
and beg release?
It is an
endless song
that plays in your head
and you can’t let go
you can’t let go…
your wide eyed stare
aches with desire
and your tongue
lays helpless,
awaiting your command.
Words scratch
at the surface
yearning for a voice
and your heart
teasingly whispers
speak –
and you can’t let go
you can’t let go
of the desire
to sing
to dance in the darkness –
awaiting the sun
to hide beneath the clouds –
yearning for rain
to release the poem
to relieve your heart.
It is like standing out
in an open field
in the pouring rain
allowing its beauty
to drench your soul
and set you free.
