Some think
they have it all
understood
where words, lives, and meaning
are all delineated
by their own views.
Their lives traipse
across dictionary definitions
branded in bold ink
and they breathe
the insignificance
of yellowed pages
from the encyclopedia.
Yesterday’s news
is a stale convulsive breath
and what comes,
when we least expect it
could be –
a miracle in the making.
We have yet to see
we have yet to understand
and what we don’t know
may give birth
to great significance
and change.
No matter what,
there is always hope.

Ohhh I love this–both the hope, and the glimpse of pride or arrogance. “The insignificance of yellowed pages” is a wonderful phrase!
