Snow at Nightfall, A Poem

snow

The pond was partly frozen
And the sky and land
Met somewhere
In between
At the water’s edge
A rippling reflection
And water lapped
Against the frozen boundaries
No footsteps
No footprints
Save tracks left by the wind
Where loose branches
Were dragged limply
Across the snow
Dense fog
Carpeted the horizon
As heavy snowfall
Carpeted the ground
and the day was slowly
coming to a close
specks of emerald green
and azure blue
danced upon the water
reflecting
and being reflected
in the evening glow.
