Portraits Poetry #53: Fox on the Prowl

Portraits Series

She
is the cunning one
the gaze
the stare
that bores a hole
though snow filled meadow.
Does she hear a sound?
Does she see a flash of movement?
Hold your breath
and hide,
don’t let the snow
crunch beneath your feet.
She is wise,
ears raised, she listens
her glaring eyes take in the scene.
She can see – she can hear
and soon, she shall sup
on the target of observation.
