How Can We Expect to Make a Difference?

Differences (2)
I was castigated,
and you left
before an explanation.
You poured forth walls
in thick cement
and drew great barriers
in the sand.
Funny how –
these days, we run away
assured in our own stances,
yet we never seek
to understand…
What is it, we propose
to accomplish this way?
Rushing forth
in condemnation
then pulling forward our veil
digging our heads in the sand.
The truth can always speak
to the masses,
it matters not
in raised voice
or in silent whisper,
but if we are not willing
to listen to one another,
how can we ever expect
to make a difference?
