Crickets’ Serenade, a poem

Crickets

In the light

of the yellow moon

a soothing melody

of crickets’ serenade

chirp – chirp

the rhythmic chanting

of lovers lost

in dark of night.

“Worry not”

says the call of the male

with gentle rub

of paper wings

and in the darkness

she stays waiting

and when she is ready

with her own voice

she sings.
