She Whispers Her Beautiful Scent, a poem

WhisperedScent

Spring was born

to disobey the winter

where curled leaf

begets new form

and silent shadows

beneath the leaning trees

now creep with promise.

Their breath reeks of

growth

and birth

and quiet longing.

You hear not

the stretch of leaf or stem

but when you pause

in the stillness

you can see it.

Each day,

a different dance

and the earth no longer

holds the same pose

but whispers her beautiful scent

and we are not the same

we are not the same

save those

who refuse to see.

    1. I bet it must be incredibly lovely this time of year. I seriously have not seen pictures from spring in South Africa. I do hope you share some at some point. It would be amazing to see.

        1. Thank you sweetheart and so sorry I have gone off the path again. Technology has been keeping me away… well, that and school lately. Things are going to change for the better soon, I hope. I have missed you terribly!

I shall keep watching for you and when your here, it’s a major bonus. Your loved. Your writing adored. Your presence a present indeed! xoxoxo

          2. I’m here sweet lady! Will not go away, even if you tell me to 😉 Well, maybe I would… but I would be sad. I am trying to make the rounds and see everyone. It is frustrating not knowing how everyone is doing and what wonderful things they have created. It brings a smile to my face when I see you 🙂

          4. I must share as this is so amazing! A while back, I posted a group of humourous pictures, one a dog carrying toilet paper along the dock, and others of the Elephant Crossing. A woman saw the post yesterday and contacted me to explain it was her dog, Chief! in the picture and she was astounded at seeing it. Small world! Amazing really.

          5. I don’t know what’s been happening to my comments. I have many I have never seen before, including this one! Speak about a small world. My grandmother, her brother and sister and parents all came to the US from Poland in the 40s. I never met her sister as she was married and lived somewhere else. I grew up assuming the family included my grandmother and her brother (her parents died before I was born). I have heard mention of her sister though, here and there. On vacation, we stayed in a vacation rental. Turns out it is owned by the granddaughter of my grandmother’s sister. I only figured it out toward the end of the trip when I kept seeing their name on the documents they sent us. It was surely a surprise. Of course, nothing came of it… and I did not expect anything, but it somehow felt special to me. 🙂

          6. I guess it was nice to touch a piece of the past. My grandmother was an amazing woman who had a profound affect upon me, even though she died when I was only 8. Anything that reminds me of her is a blessing 🙂
