Photography: Mountain Wonders (Post #1)

Quite some time ago, we spent a week up in the mountains in Snowmass, Colorado.  We enjoyed hiking each and every day, often leaving early morning and returning by dinner time.  It was incredibly joyful for all of us and I can only imagine how amazing it would be to be as active all the time.  Along the way, we spotted so many different types of birds, a lone owl hiding in a tree, chipmunks chasing one another through the forest, and a wolf trying to find its midday meal.  It was an enjoyable visit and one I love to revisit through these photos.

I thought I’d share our trip with you, in the hopes that you enjoy the beauty as well.  Should we ever visit again, I will try my best to take many more photos.  I could barely put the camera down.  I hope you enjoy!

  1. Beautiful Sumyanna. The tiny squirrel hidden in the tree is to sweet.

  3. These photos are lovely.
You may find this hard to believe, but “Colorado” was the first word my eldest daughter said clearly. The Eurovision Song Contest was on at the time, and one of the songs was caled Colorado. The word was repeated a lot of times throughout the song, and when it ended, Sarah said, clear as a bell, “Col-o-ra-do” – just once. We couldn’t get her to repeat it.

Wow – Colorado was her first word? That’s so cool. All of my children had a first word “daddy”. I actually have video where I gave my son a hard time saying, “no, say Mommy!” all he can do is giggle. That is such a cute memory!

      1. Those first words are so precious – even when they’re not what the ones were hoping for… 🙂
