Photography: Take a Walk With Me (Post #1)

Spring is seemingly here.  I smell it in the air.  I see it in the buds growing on the trees and the flowers beneath the rustle of last year’s leaves upon the ground.  In some places, she may have already reared her head completely, but not on the Colorado prairie.  In the past week, it has already snowed two times.

The grass is still a faded yellow, but I know she is here.  Our tree outside has gorgeous maroon buds reaching toward the sun.  Even the weeds have started to grow.  We just have to wait for these cold periods to pass us by.  So until then, I try to get out more.  I’m enjoying the sparse periods of warmer weather and even when it is cold and windy, I am enduring the weather to see what little bits that nature leaves behind.

So last weekend, we went walking on a familiar trail behind the gardens.  Crowds of bugs were not looming about the trees, but we did finally spy some mosquitoes.  This is progress!  Anyway, I hope you enjoy the view until spring is finally here.  Come take a walk with me 🙂

The ripples and reflections with the leaf in the water are quite pleasing. All in all great photos as usual!

My daughter begged that I snap that photo 🙂 So glad you enjoyed it… it was wonderful to watch it float on its way.

      1. Something special about it, freedom, travel, the aimless journey going wherever so not aimless at all, on the currents. I really loved it.

  4. So nice to feel some spring in the air! We’ve been going to the local sanctuary to get outside and feed some ducks. It’s so important to get out into nature whenever possible these days. The winters just seem to get longer each year. Your photos are always so wonderful 💞🌻🤗! ~Anne

I know right? The only odd thing is that it has snowed three times this week! I feel bad that everyone is on their spring break (we had ours last week). So nice to get out and feed the ducks. We have so many here… and the geese! Our winters usually drag on until April. I’d just be thankful for a few sunny days right now 🙂

  5. The image of the leaf, floating on water is lovely, Sumyanna.
I didn’t know you lived in Colorado. There was a song with that name in the Eurovision Song Contest on TV when my eldest daughter was tiny. After it was finished , she spoke her first word… wait for it… Colorado. She enunciated it clearly and slowly “Col-er-rad-do.” as if it was four words. She only said it one time, and then looked at me blankly as if she hadn’t opened her mouth at all. It was incredible.

Now that is definitely a special first word! My goodness, all of my kiddos sad “dada” as their first word, which thrilled my husband. I kept telling them to say “mama” and they would reply “dada” and laugh at me 🙂 Kids are just amazing, aren’t they?!?
