Daily Post Photography Challenge: Spring Awakening

is a time of awakening

not only, does the earth come to life

but its creatures return to beautify the scene.

The wind whispers with intent –

as pollen fills the swollen blue skies of longing

and the sun’s rays shine down upon the growing buds

the branches dangling heavily, pregnant with promise.

I raise the camera to my eye

as spring has likewise awakened within me –

the renewal of hope.

Submitted for the Daily Post Prompt: awakening

Sorry I’ve been away for a bit… My computer died and I was stuck on the kid’s computers which has Net Nanny blocking practically everything 🙂  I’m finally back!

Hi Sumyanna, great to have you back again with two cracker poems, and some wonderful photos. I have also been away for a while, trying to re-energise my system and get writing again. Best wishes and blessings, Charles.

I know I am writing this and I have not yet visited your blog (working on that in a few minutes). How has writing been for you? I know you said you were tired lately and perhaps didn’t have the energy to write. I think sometimes silence is good for us too, it helps us gather the words we will write much later.

Hi Sumyanna, sorry that I have taken so long to reply, but have been so tired I fall asleep before I get to go on the computer. Genevieve is not to well, so am looking after her, and working as well, so am really quite drained; my aging body does not like all of this, so I am having to sleep longer hours. I believe that silence and contemplation are good, and soon I will be back and hungry to write more poems, Some good news is that I have had my first poem published in a South African literary journal called Stanzas, no. 12 of June 2018, a small step forward.

Have you shared the poem on your blog? I would so love to read it. And…. C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! That is so exciting. My daughter has been published two or three times last year and is hoping to do more. I’m so thrilled for her. Right now, it’s not my time as I’m too busy with other things, but I will have my moment soon 🙂

I have, it is called ” Fantasy piano quartet”, and is in Stanzas number, 12. I made some improvements to the one on the blog, which is quite far back. I think if you go onto the Stanzas web sight you can see the published poem. It is wonderful that your daughter has been published a few times. It is almost time for the next edition of Stanzas to come out, so must choose and send in some more poems. Best wishes and blessings, Charles.

I am going to look that one up. Can’t wait to read it. Yes, my one daughter is quite a writer. It is a blessing to be able to encourage her. I only wish to one day fill her shoes 🙂
