Garden Daydreams: Worthy, a poem

Another poem in the series, “Garden Daydreams.”  It is my attempt to read between the lines of photos I have taken this past year – to try to find the whispers of meaning and the stories yet untold.  I hope you enjoy them.

worthy

Worthy

I’ve settled in

to my own skin,

no longer

broken

by the

lies,

the goodbyes,

the non-disclosure

of true feelings.

I can’t afford

another

wasted breath

on trying to rise

to the occasion,

to live up to

the expectation

of those who refuse

to be genuine.

This is me –

This is me –

and though

I may be

different,

there’s beauty still

in the song I carry,

in the arms held wide

in willing embrace,

in the smiling face

I share with anyone

who’s willing to notice,

if only they

were willing to see.

This is me –

This is me –

and had they only

given me a chance

I could have

proven myself

worthy

of their view.

  1. Anyone who judges you is not worthy of you. 💗

“My philosophy is: It’s none of my business what people say of me and think of me. I am what I am and I do what I do. I expect nothing and accept everything. And it makes life so much easier.” ~ Sir Anthony Hopkins

    1. I so agree – and were I to tell anyone else, that would definitely be my advice. Sadly, our hearts don’t always listen – but I’m always telling her anyway 🙂
