You said that
You could not
Fathom
A world where
Ink and life
Collide
And you
Shuddered
To think
That I –
Should raise
My shattered pen.
Where hope
Was lacking,
I filled it with ink
And when
All the world
I knew of love –
Was abandonment
Who wailed
At the thought
That tears would
Stream down my cheeks?
It was there that I cried
Upon those pages
And it was then,
That I carried myself
Through the storm.
I have learned
To lay myself bare
Upon the page
And I worry not
The reply.
As I live and breathe,
Ink has filled
My once hopeless life
With beauty.
I shake not,
Weary in my own shadow
Nor do I lay
My dreams aside
I shall write upon these days
As if they were my last
I shall bloom
And I shall blossom
And I shall remain strong
If only because –
You never believed.
