It is still morning
have yet to have my coffee
and my little one sneaks up
arms full of stuffed animals
hugged tight
and he trusts me –
places two babies in my arms
and asks me to hug them
kiss them
and I do –
the smile that lights up his face
is worth all the gold in the world
and he watches to see
what I’ll do next
so I go about my day
his babies held lovingly in my lap
so he knows I care
and me – I’m trying to figure out
what to do,
’cause he keeps bringing more.

love this poem, it brought a smile to my face and a warmth in my heart, and I thought yes what would I do, maybe it’s when One needs the wings of words in your other wonderful poem that I read! Best wishes and blessings, Charles.

🙂 Oh, my little ones keep me still so very young. It is a blessing…

Yes it is indeed; today I turned 59, but don’t feel it even though I had no children. It was a wonderful poem though.

Congratulations! As I get older, I learn that age is only a number (yeah, because I’m older) 🙂 thank you.

Quite, but there are a few things that I can no longer do that I always used to be able to do, but one adapts as one goes.

Well, we CAN do them, the problem is the consequences 🙂 I’m still trying to keep that younger spirit alive as long as I can. Still not doing anything crazy though… You know, in order to make sure I don’t fall apart 🙂

Have tried to do as much as I can, but am having to cut back due to osteoarthritis in my hips, knees and shoulders. What is happening though is that I am doing different things to what I used to do, and I don’t see anything wrong with that, so for instance, instead of running I now walk.

I know what you mean. There’s nothing wrong with that! Walking is actually great exercise.
