Let Us Rise from this Chaos – Pic and a Word Challenge #249

This post is in response to the Rise – Pic and a Word Challenge #249 (see below for more details). Before writing, I tried to learn a bit more about this building and its purpose – this is the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències in Valencia, Spain, taken by Patrick Jennings. This is definitely someplace that I would love to visit!

Let Us Rise from this Chaos

Looming, steel

I ponder the hands

that created you

the mind

that conjured

every angle

every beam

to celebrate

the beauty

of the world

around you

to sing

their praises

to astound

the unmoved hearts

to awaken

the sleeping voice

of curiosity.

You stand

of the misunderstood,

while some fight

to build walls

of dishonest discourse.

Let us

from this chaos.

About the prompt:

The Pic and a Word Challenge is (usually) a weekly creativity prompt offered Mondays by Pix to Words. I’ve struggled quite a bit trying to get back into the writing frame of mind, so I really benefitted from doing this challenge. I hope you decide to join in.

Writer of poetry and seeker of knowledge. I hope to inspire and be inspired by my words and the world around me.

  1. Hey!

Thanks for the beautiful response to the challenge.

    One request though…

Please don’t copy the challenge rules on your post (your readers may think your blog is hosting the challenge). All that is required is to mention the challenge and provide a link to this week’s challenge post, Rise ~ Pic and a word Challenge #249.

If you also want to say something nice about the challenge, that’s cool too. 😉

    Now back to your poem…

I love the way you write about the act of creation here. Such a beautiful and passionate vision.

    1. I made the changes necessary – sorry, I wasn’t sure how to properly note the challenge as this was my first time. Thank you so much for your kind words and for doing prompts like this. I’ve missed writing and have had a hard time coming up with ideas. Your prompt really helped.
